Managing shipping options

This self-service feature is not available for use yet.

Permission required
This action can be performed by users with the Manage shipping permission.

When you create shipping options in NewStore Omnichannel Manager, associates can select them and related shipping charges in NewStore Associate App during checkout.

Ensure that you have set up fulfillment locations (stores and warehouses ) for your business before you create shipping options.

Creating a shipping option

To create a shipping option for your business:

  1. Inform your integration team when you create shipping options to ensure that they are mapped accurately to any external systems that will use them.

  2. Go to Settings > Shipping, and in the left menu, select Shipping options.

  3. Click Add shipping option.

  4. In Code, specify a unique code for the shipping option.

    Important

    NewStore uses this value in all integrations with the shipping carrier, and to request for shipping services from the carrier during checkout in NewStore Associate App.

  5. In API base URL, specify the shipping carrier adapter URL, where requests for shipping services from NewStore Omnichannel Cloud will be posted.

  6. In Display name, specify the name of the shipping option to be displayed in NewStore Associate App.

  7. In Delivery estimate, specify the estimated time needed for delivery when this shipping option is selected.

  8. In Shipping flat rate, specify an amount and currency that NewStore uses for the shipping option.

    note

    The default value is 0.

    Important

    Regardless of product dimensions, NewStore charges this amount to your customers for shipping their order with this shipping option. If you want to use the specific rate that your shipping carrier returns for the order, see Managing shipping carriers and services .

  9. Click Save.

set up shipping carriers and carrier services , and connect each shipping option to a carrier service level.

Updating a shipping option

To update the details of a shipping option:

  1. Go to Settings > Shipping, and in the left menu, select Shipping options.
  2. In the list, select the shipping option you want to update.
  3. In the Edit shipping option screen, update the details of the shipping option.
  4. Click Save.

Updating the priority of shipping options

The priority of the shipping options decides which shipping option is selected first to ship an order.

The default priority of shipping options configured for your business is based on the order in which you create them. The first shipping option you create has the highest priority, and the last one you create has the lowest priority.

To update the priority of shipping options for orders in your business:

  1. Go to Settings > Shipping, and in the left menu, select Shipping options.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Reorder priority.
  3. Select and drag the relevant shipping options to the top of the list to increase their priority.
  4. Click Save.
